8 Ways that you know you are having a good day

There are those bad days where everything goes wrong and you just want to crawl into the foetal position, and then there are those glorious days where the sun shines just a lil brighter, and the birds chirp a lil louder. These are the days that I live for, and they aren't necessarily dramatic or full of excitement. It's all the small things that add up to one big happy day, and you get to revel in the complete bliss that is life. This is how you know you're having a good day.

1. There are very few feelings better than waking up before your alarm goes off in the morning.

You have had your solid 8 hours of sleep and you have managed to avoid being woken up to that mind-drilling alarm that makes children weep. Waking up on the right side of the bed has never seemed so easy, and one good stretch is all you need. If you're feeling super energetic you bring out some 'downward facing dog' yoga pose to kick the day off. Gwyneth Paltrow has nothing on you girl!

2. That moment where you look in the mirror and feel pleasantly surprised.

Your skin is clear and your hair is kind of tousled but in a sexy way. Less time for you to sit at your dressing table making yourself look like a human, and more time to feel confident and improve what is already there. You think to yourself 'I can work with this', and fight the urge to take a hundred selfies. The general public must know!

3. When your outfit is on point.

You open your cupboard and feel like Cinderella when the birds and the other woodland animals swoop and scurry around making her dress for her. You effortlessly put together the perfect outfit along with accessories to match. These being the same clothes you threatened to give to charity last week because you just could not handle looking at them hanging there any longer. Well not today!

4. Opening the fridge to your favourite food.

Whether you live at home and your mom did a big shop the day before, or you went out and got it all yourself, opening that fridge in the morning to find it fully stocked is the equivalent to being told you have won a competition. Every breakfast combination you can think of is possible on a day like today, close to a buffet at the four seasons. Three course breakfast cause you can't decide? No one can judge you, its the most important meal of the day.

5. Getting in the car to find you have a full tank of petrol.

Lets be honest here, nobody enjoys filling up petrol. You can't enjoy petrol, you can't eat it... all it does is let your car actually work and then you have to get more. What a pain in the ass! Today, however, your tank is full and you somehow you get every green light on the way to your destination. That feeling of victory as you sail through the streets without a care in the world can only be made perfect with...

6. Hearing your song on the radio

What is that you hear? Beyonce is that you? Taylor Swift? Why yes it is your favourite song playing spontaneously on the radio for you and you alone. It is like there is some cosmic force that can read your mind and give you exactly what you want. Roll down the windows and blast your music like you're a Kardashian in a Range Rover.

7.  You get a compliment.

It doesn't matter if this compliment comes from the weird rando behind you in the bank queue, or from your mother herself, a compliment is a compliment. When you are already in a great mood, you will accept that compliment with arms wide open and a huge smile spread across your smug face. Oh you ask if I have lost weight? No not at all, but thank you for saying so cause I am about to eat a chocolate donut.

8. You get home to find that your favourite programme/movie has just started.

You may have forgotten to record it, or simply didn't know it was on, but how rare is that moment when you switch on the t.v to see that the latest episode of Vampire Diaries has just started #damon. Even better is that girly chick flick that brings all those happy teenage memories flowing back. Pour yourself a big glass of wine and relax on the couch. You have just had a good day, and nothing can possibly go wrong...

*spills wine* x
