How to avoid people

Whether you would like to admit it or not, you have all had a guilty moment where you really don't want to acknowledge someones existence in public. It could be that annoying family friend that doesn't stop talking when you see them, the ex or the random stranger you hooked up with one time, or simply someone you don't enjoy too much. Don't be ashamed though, I'm here to assist.

Hilton Arts Fest- Colombo Coffee

Amongst all the food and drink stalls at the Hilton Arts Fest this year, Colombo Coffee was by far the most enticing to me. Since I spent the entire weekend there working at the beer tent, there was a great need for a caffeine boost every now and then. No need to guess where I went for my fix each time!

Hilton Arts Fest- Grolsch

Over the weekend I worked with the SAB brand Grolsch, which were the main contributors of the Hilton Arts Fest beer tent just outside the main Hilton College Theatre. The weekend event was attended by clusters of Hilton College parents, school-going teens and PMB residents all keen to get out of the house and experience some culture.

The premium lager has been made since 1615, with a signature swing top that sets this beer apart from the rest. The excitement for the day was giving out giant 1.5 litre Grolsch magnums to customers who took part in the raffle. It is enough to make any grown man feel like its Christmas and his birthday all in one!

Be present

So often I found myself being distracted. I would be talking to someone and look down at my phone when a notification popped up, or gaze behind a shoulder at the television programme that caught my eye. The worst part is that I caught others doing it and would feel offended.

The 7 types of friends every girl needs

As we get older we realise more and more that when it comes to friends, quality beats quantity every time. It is, however, quite challenging when you transition from a student to a working woman and instead of seeing your friends by default (at varsity or at social gatherings) you have to make a conscious effort to designate time for them.

Durban Day

As someone who lived in the city long enough, I somehow never went to Durban Day until this year, and my oh my have I missed out over the years. It was epic.

Happy times

When my family moved cities, my parents had interviews to find a domestic to assist with the cleaning, washing and general household chores. My parents both had full time jobs and couldn't manage on their own with two young children. When they met Happy amongst other possible candidates, they just knew that she would be the right person for our family.

Small town syndrome

When most people think of South Africa they think of the warm beaches in Durban, the busy urban life in Johannesburg and the rolling winelands of Cape Town. They are all a beautiful representation of our country, and full of rich culture in their own unique way.
