The Camel Trench Coat

So it is still blazing hot here in South Africa but I cant help but pick up the camel trench coat trend. It is classy, stylish and effortless, yet can make any outfit look good simply by draping it over your shoulders. I am strangely envious that I don't have the opportunity to wear one until winter, but I am most definitely on the hunt for one of these coats as soon as they hit the stores.

I see a trench coat like this as an investment piece that will stand the test of time. Not to be confused with the iconic Burberry trench, it is less structured but with thicker fabric, and its length falls to the lower calf instead of the thigh. The best way to wear them is with a full black outfit underneath and a simple pair of heels. This brings out the rich texture of the jacket, which is a statement in itself.

The trench can also be paired with a good pair of leather boots and a dress for some edge, or with ripped jeans and a white t-shirt for a more casual look. If you are lucky enough to find a good quality version, do not leave it behind! Trust me, these camel trench coats are worth your while.

Pair your LBD with a cute coat this fall.
