How to earn cash and save

When it comes to earning and saving money as a young person, you are highly advantaged in some aspects and slightly disadvantaged in others. Part-time work is reasonably easy to find but the pay is inconsistent, and full time work comes with a long-term commitment and certain requirements such as experience and qualifications.

When I had 6 months to do whatever I could to earn and save money, best believe I got stuck in very swiftly and worked very hard. It was so worth all my efforts because I managed to stay motivated and save even more than I was expecting to! As far as I'm concerned, whether you are fresh out of high school, studying or completed your studies, there is a job (or two) out there for you. You have to start somewhere so don't be too picky, and remember that a job isn't just going to fall on your lap while you're watching series reruns on the couch. Go out there and make some money! So Yesterday Volume 2

This is another update of what is no longer in fashion. Some trends we are sad to see go and others we wave goodbye to happily! I have mixed emotions about these, but they are pretty much done and dusted. Here is what you should stop wearing (or maybe hold onto for a future retro fashion moment).

Sneaker Wedges

I love all kinds of shoes, and I would be lying if I said I didn't feel inspired the first time I saw Beyonce wearing a pair in her music video 'Love on top'. I just had to have them! For some reason I got a mint green pair, which kind of went with nothing in my closet but oh well...sneaker wedges are out! When you think about it, they actually are quite a strange form of sneaker shaped heel. It is also confusing as to how you style them and what you wear them with so as not to look like you belong to a gang. Bye-bye sneaker wedges!

The bartender, the shrink

I have had so many different jobs since I've left high school. I don't like to think of myself as a job-jumper, but being a student means making money through various part-time opportunities. This even included handing out flyers at intersections and working as an assistant at a soya bean conference(don't ask). The one job I never thought I would have was being a bartender.
