Airport Attire

Airport attire is more than just planning a cute outfit, it has to be comfortable, well thought-out and sensible. These words might sound slightly boring when talking about clothing, but allow me to prove that you don't have to look like a dogs breakfast to have a great airport outfit. This is especially necessary when you are on a long flight, because your sense of humour will soon fade if you haven't chosen the right kit (trust me).

1. Stripe Top
This top is fashionable AND comfortable. You don't want to wear tight fitting tops or anything that you have to keep pulling at or rearranging. A simple T-shirt is the way to go! If you want to go the extra comfort route, opt for a sports bra instead of an underwire bra.

2. Tights
They are super comfortable and stretchy for extra movement, and also keep you warm on a chilly flight. If tights aren't your thing then go for stylish track pants or slouchy pyjama-style pants (see here). The last thing you want is jean buttons digging into your skin, or a skirt that keeps riding up.

3. Sneakers
It may seem like flip-flops are the best option when it comes to flying, but I completely disagree. Sneakers are the way to go! They are super trendy right now, and essential for walking long distances when you are trying to navigate the airport. Swap your sneakers for a thick pair of socks during your flight if you are the type that likes to get cozy.

4. FBB- Friggin Big Bag
There are varied opinions about hand luggage, but I say the simpler and more compact the better. If you use a big sturdy handbag, you can fit every in-flight essential inside it with easy access and no hassle.

5. Scarf
I personally think that a scarf is the most versatile accessory you can own. Not only does it make your outfit look more put together, it can double up as a pillow, a blanket or extra seat padding. Scarves are essential on a flight! You can thank me later.

6. Sunglasses
I don't know about all you females out there but I do not wear make up on a long flight for many reasons. Therefore to hide my scary makeup-free face, I like to wear sunglasses for as long as possible before the flight. Having sunglasses is also convenient for when you get out on the other side and its hot and sunny.

7. Jewellery
I'm all about being friends with the metal detectors to make my life at the airport checks go swiftly, so I don't wear any jewellery at ALL. However, if you are a huge fan of accessories then stick to the rubber or plastic options that are still just as cute but don't set anything off.

8. Jacket
This option could be a jersey/sweater/jacket variation, as long as it is super soft and comfortable and keeps you warm on the flight when the going gets tough. Make sure it's not too bulky so that it doesn't take up too much space in your bag if you decide to take it off at any point

I hope this break-down of simple and easy airport attire was useful! Happy traveling x
